Author's Response: Thank you! Personally, I think the Vorta as a whole were not fully explored. While Jeffrey Combs did give a fantastic performance as Weyoun, I think they needed another major recurring character.

Lots of battle lines getting drawn here. The Clone resurrection stuff is interesting and both DS9 and nuBSG failed I think to fully explore and capitalise on the impact of it on the clones. Great to see you doing so here to interesting effect.

Author's Response: Thank you! Originally, I intended for Liska to go with Arjagul Hesar and then Eris was the one who Gunship Rescues them, since I've written a few where Eris is the one who needs saving. However, as I started writing the battle scene, I felt that Liska had nothing to do in the battle. Plus, as Hesar's second-in-command, he would likely leave her in charge for the coming assaults.

When Liska made her move I just wanted to shout 'hooray'! And Cerrein certainly deserved what he got. An exciting piece.

Author's Response: I tried to avoid the "Space is 2D" trope; however, I realized this would be difficult even in written form. It was also my intention to finally show some surface combat, something which I feel was severely lacking on DS9. As you've said you have not seen DS9 yet, there is a reference to a Cardassian Order (which is wiped out by the Klingons) consisting entirely of "old men and the walking wounded."

You have a great eye for battle sequences - very believable and easy to follow. I also liked that the soldiers are teenagers (you could also have rather old soldiers as well); that was reminiscent of the end of the Confederacy/the end of the Nazis. The whole thing had a Battle of the Bulge feel to it.
