Author's Response: I actually think Jean-Luc is beyond terms like 'straight' or 'gay'. If anything, maybe 'bisexual' fits. I just don't think he places a lot of importance on something as trivial as GENDER when it comes to falling in love or romantic encounters or whatever else. I would say he is attracted to Q but would never want to admit this to himself - not because Q appears as a male human but because he is an omnipotent nightmare. The fact that he doesn't want to admit that he's attracted to Q might have led to some parts of his dream... but then, it might also be Q who actually placed the whole dream in his mind. I left this one open. Deliberately.
