Date: 25 May 2015 17:44 Title: The Solution
It's got to be difficult for T'Beth, as Spock is beyond your standard emotionally distant father. For Spock, the expression of emotion is so fraught with meaning that he still seems to be incapable of just letting go and doing so. Well done and thought-provoking.
Author's Response:
Yes, T'Beth's childhood was indeed turbulent, and one of the reasons was Spock's emotional distance. Thankfully, things improved between them once she reached her 20's and came to appreciate his finer qualities.
Thanks for the kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Great story. I like.
Favorite moment: D'Gar meeting Jean-Luc.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for the feedback! I love that moment, too. And the groundskeeper is also from ST:TNG. He was played by Ray Walston. It was fun sneaking them both in. My series has gone on for so long, I thought the timeframe allowed for it.
Date: 04 Apr 2015 23:39 Title: Second Born
Hmmm... New wrinkles are always interesting.
Author's Response:
Thanks for reading! Yes, a couple of new wrinkles there. :)
Date: 01 Apr 2015 00:16 Title: Damage Control
An intricate and touching piece, very nicely done, MC.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the kind remarks!
Date: 24 Mar 2015 06:30 Title: Father O'Day Pays a Visit
This is a very sweet story. I'll be going back to read more from this series. =)
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for reading! I'm glad that you liked it and want to read more of the series. Since it covers a large span of years, it's best to start at the very beginning.
Date: 17 Mar 2015 09:01 Title: Two Days in Cancun
Not bad, but it felt a bit off character.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the read. It would make more sense to one who has followed the entire series from the beginning. A lot of stories, but a lot that has happened to shape Spock. And Cancun is also the prelude to "Times of Trouble", where it becomes clear that he is experiencing a medical problem that affects his behavior.
Date: 06 Mar 2015 17:03 Title: Father O'Day Pays a Visit
Aw, that's a cute story. It all works out in the end. I do believe the family will be all right.
Author's Response:
Thanks for reading and offering comments. Yes, the good Father discovered that he need not have worried about young Jamie S'chn T'gai. His neighbors have matters well under control...for now.
Date: 05 Mar 2015 11:58 Title: An Empty Place
Very poignant...especially now, with Leonard Nimoy himself passing. My cat, very elderly, is doing exactly what Mosha did...decorating the end of the sofa so I can empathise quite easily here.
Author's Response:
Thank-you. I also have lost beloved cats. Mosha had minor roles in other stories from my Star Trek: Beyond series. She had a special affinity for Spock.
Date: 03 Mar 2015 21:31 Title: Damage Control
Very well written, you really captured why teenagers do things they know are wrong, how they justify these actions in their own heads, and how they react when caught red-handed.
I was a little taken aback by the idea that Bethany thought Spock would beat her, though. In canon, with the exception of what Parmen put him through he was slow to anger and always strove to find the solution that would lead to the the least amount of physical violence. Not being familiar with your personal canon, I'm curious to know what he did to make Bethany think he would react that way, or if her over-active imagination is what led to that conclusion on her part.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the thoughtful review! My series includes a story "The Long Road Home" in which Spock suffers a deep personal tragedy that makes him grow very cold and distant for a time. The young empathic Bethany picked up on this, so he frightened her badly. Now, as a preteen, she has also been influenced by the propaganda of an anti-alien organization (CUE or Clean Up Earth) which I've incorporated into the series. Fortunately Bethany learns that she has nothing to fear from her grandfather and they become quite close, as shown in the later story, "Robby Clay and the Borg".
Date: 13 Feb 2015 00:39 Title: A Flower in the Shadows
I agree with the Admiral you do know how to set a scene. I like how Jamie sees the inner beauty of Anika. A good lesson learned. Their relationship blossoms.
Author's Response:
Thanks for kind remarks. Jamie and Anika took a wrong turn but, as you put it, in time their relationship blossomed.
Date: 12 Feb 2015 03:20 Title: Damage Control
I really enjoyed the insight into Bethany's character. You executed a good narrative style to tell this story, though at first I felt like all the scene-jumping was a bit jarring, it worked out in terms of how you presented the experience. Well-written and great pacing.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much! I did hop around a bit in order to get the story told. I'm glad that you came to think it was well-paced.
Date: 11 Feb 2015 23:45 Title: Damage Control
Very well written. As always you pack so much in a short story. Bethany learns so much about her grandfather through the diary but when she comes to him face to face and he allows her to see his inner being. She is blessed.
Author's Response:
Thanks! Yes, one good thing comes out of this diary debacle. Bethany loses her fear of Spock and comes to love him.
Date: 11 Feb 2015 23:11 Title: Damage Control
Aw, it all worked out.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the read!
Date: 05 Feb 2015 00:45 Title: Theirs To Cherish
Well that was a nice slice of life from your trek-verse. It was good to see Spock and Tess bond over the music of the Piano. The prose show your usual writing skill. Despite being a short story the pacing was spot on. Tess fascination with the music and piano starting as an unexpected problem to developing into an unexpected gift.
The final paragraph about listening was a nice cherry on top of this cake of a story.
Author's Response:
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the story of Tessie's hidden talent emerging. That last bit about listening came through in a late rewrite. I particularly enjoyed that part, too.
Date: 25 Jan 2015 18:19 Title: A Flower in the Shadows
Wow. I loved this story, It's really beautiful. You really know how to set the scene; it was neat when "Anika paused to stroke a velvety patch of moss" and told Jamie "Jamie, look! Isn't it beautiful?" it's cool how the romance between Jamie and Anika developed, even though it started off rocky.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm glad you found the story both beautiful and believable. The Star Trek: Beyone series has grown quite long, with more to come. As in all series, the stories are best read in order.
Date: 16 Jan 2015 03:13 Title: Two Days in Cancun
Ah, this is wonderful MC! I cannot wait to see where you go with this next! Makes me want to go back to Cancun and Tulum. Great work!
Author's Response:
Glad you enjoyed the story, zeusfluff. Kind words from someone who has actually been there! This piece was inspired by a fellow writer who mentioned that her Spock and wife were going to Cancun. And so I thought, why can't mine?
Date: 05 Jan 2015 05:01 Title: Personal Matters
Very touching story. The loss of a ship encapsulating a family, the loss of a legend, the loss of actual family. They all made a difference.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the read and kind words. Yes, family on many levels.
What does that little "thumbs up" sign mean, and where does it comes from? I'm seeing it all over Ad Astra now.
Date: 04 Jan 2015 17:21 Title: Personal Matters
That last line was exceptionally well done. What a gut punch.
Author's Response:
Wow, thank you! A gut punch! I'm so glad you liked it.
Date: 04 Jan 2015 16:11 Title: Personal Matters
Again a nice story of the family of our heroes it was good to have some-one for Picard to share that moment of Kirk's death with.
A very Human tale but very enjoyable for it.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for your remarks. Glad you enjoyed the story!
Date: 01 Jan 2015 20:26 Title: Personal Matters
I likes this. Bits from Generations woven seamlessly with your own personal canon. Lots of families here - some conventional, others not so much, but all blending and sharing those feelings that make others special to us, whether related to us by blood or other unique personal ties. Very well done.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much. Yes, Picard is dealing with family on three different levels. :)
Date: 19 Dec 2014 05:14 Title: Personal Matters
Oh, that's rather bittersweet (the film is, too, in some ways).
Author's Response:
Yes, I agree about the film. And my series does tend to have a lot of heartache. Thanks for the comment!
Date: 09 Dec 2014 18:19 Title: A Wealth of Years
I really enjoyed this story, as it has a lot of the same themes that I like to explore. I love the conflict that is caused when two people of different races and backgrounds come together. I'm glad that everything seemed to work out in the end, and that fears and biases were overcome. Beautiful piece :-)
Author's Response:
Thanks for the kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the story and the way issues were resolved between the characters.
Date: 08 Dec 2014 23:36 Title: A Wealth of Years
A bit of a whirlwind relationship but I glad Dana got over her Vulcan shyness and that Father found the logic answer to an unexpected roadblock.
Well done a solid tale.
Author's Response:
Thanks. Yes, Simon and Dane fell in love quickly. And Spock to the rescue with his logical suggestions.
Date: 08 Dec 2014 23:24 Title: A Wealth of Years
As always your alternative Spock and his family provide an entertaining read.
A nice first chapter about Simon falling in love with Dana.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for the read and kind words. It's good to know that someone likes a story.
Date: 03 Dec 2014 02:10 Title: A Wealth of Years
Aww, sweet. Well done!
Author's Response:
Thanks so much!
