Awww :3. I love the Q/Picard dynamic. Such a heartbreaking story! You can tell that Q really does care for Jean-Luc. Funny how, as an omnipotent being, he can only care for Picard in his own way, as opposed to a mortal, who is free to love with no restrictions.

Author's Response: Thank you! I struggled with this story for ages, actually. I found the artwork and had this idea of Q witnessing Jean-Luc's assimilation but being powerless to prevent it. It took me months to form a story out of this because the entire issue is so incredibly complex and hard for me to write because it's such an emotional thing for me to write about bad things that happened to Jean-Luc. I'm thrilled that you liked it, though! :)
