I usually don't really like reading MA/NC-17 stories, but this one was excellent. For one, your characterization of Q is always masterful; the sheer care and thoughtfulness that you handle him as a character thrills me. (Well, and it makes me feel less guilty about being that way about my own favorite.)

But what stood out in this was the backstory for the Ocampans; how they were genetically screwed with, how he fixed that so that she could live the way she was meant to. That made the sex scene much more... deep and poignant and touching. It felt like the joy and wonder someone would feel to be denied something natural and then finally get it.
