Interesting. Looks more like a teaser than a stand alone story. Makes me want to know what happened that those three are not aboard Voyager, but still serving on one starship. And it's nice to see Carey alive, I always liked this character.
Harry seems quite in character and Carey seems to serve as Tom Paris here, teasing the younger officer.
I am confused, though, regarding the timeline. I am unable to tell when exactly this happens. My guess would be that this event is parallel to Voyager being in the Delta Quadrant, as Harry is young. But it doesn't fit the "century" comment about the transporter...or maybe it's not the same Voyager, but some very old ship with the same name.
The description of the Zakdorn reminds me of the one from TNG (I think we saw him in Unification episode)...I can't help but wonder if it's the same one or perhaps they all are like that ;)

This was really good. In fact, while I was in the Navy, some of us were sent to an old tender that I had served on years and years ago. I had spent three years aboard that ship, and was saddened to see it had been gutted for spare parts...
Is this story going to continue? Or is this a one shot?
