Interesting character development on Deen and yet more sleep issues. It appears they all slept through the attack or otherwise failed to notice.
Wild vulcans... of course they might not be the only inhabitants. I seem to have missed something though...
It seems they have met the community, but I don't recall seeing that in the preceeding chapters.

Well, Deen has feelings for Owens (but he doesn't know) and she's got that on her plate, but with Srena down for the count it seems Deen is tapping into some frustration and getting ready to lay the smack down on someone.
The settlement is clearly responsible, though the who remains a question ... since it wasn't Xy (I thought, briefly, they might have turned him) perhaps it was his girl. Srena seemed to recognize the attacker and I bet you money the girl doesn't want Xy to leave.
Author's Response: Poor Deen has a couple of issues and things will actually come to a head in a later story set after war. (mini plug: Vignette Series Two: Crossing Over - What Happens on Risa) For now her frustrations may be justified.
