No children.. always a bad sign in a settlement. People get twisted when they realize they are up for extinction..
And a mysteriously protective vulcan in a forbidden place. Lots of mystery.
I'm intrigued by the description of the rogue planet. Not entirely unlike Vengeon-Roux... Although its survivors are far less pathetic and rather ominious.
Thanks! rbs
Author's Response: No familiar with that planet but things are mightily odd here, that's for sure.

SUSS! Much?
I'm calling it a The Cage type scenario here, me thinks cos this is all just a bit too weird. And as Deen's conversation went, the rogue planet astronomical chances of oh so just about perfect conditions for life are too odd. That said, it remains plausible and I do like the scientific reasoning behind a lot of it, adding a nice TOS/sci fi feel to things it has to be said. But hunting screaming Vulcans who eat Buffalo? Huh? Some thing is up. Great stuff.
Author's Response: Well, they certainly aren't your garden variety Vulcans. That much is for sure.

See, I KNEW the Vulcans were up to something. This is not a standard thing. Something is strange here and Tela being the only young one also screams of strange. Further, why wasn't she taught any of the Vulcan ways? What is it with these guys?
Klaxons are going off in my head. Red alert, this is weird stuff.
Author's Response: Just because they hunt animals, eat meat, have no children and are unwilling to help with repairs. Nothing wrong with this picture.
