I'm enjoying the character development accompanying the adventure - in this case of Srena. Interesting how many similar themes we are both using. An andorian pilot will be added to the Hunter's crew in Ep 13 and a rogue planet in Ep 16... And then there's the ring structure..
A crash landing cliff hanger..
Thnaks!! rbs
Author's Response: Talking about Trek tropes, right? A shuttle crash landing? How many of those have we seen over the years. Oh well, still a perfectly valid story-telling device in my humble opinion.

Uh oh...
Nice little nail biter there at the end. A rogue planet amid a dangerous nebula? Nice. Very mysterious and foreboding. Lots of mysteries going on here. I like that you've got mysteries in both plots - on the ship and off. And amid it all some neat character interactions going on. And of course, the hint of Deen's feelings for Owens? All good stuff.
Author's Response: Oh yeah, mysteries abound in this tale. Let's hope the payoff will be worth it. Deen's feelings for Owens have been an ongoing little theme in the series. We'll have to see what will come out of it.

Ah, a nice bit of crew interaction here. Yes, the "live for today" mantra is found often in wartime. I like Srena and her boy, Lance. Dee is right, they are a cute couple and they should enjoy one another while they can. War takes the things we treasure most and wrecks at least one of them. The ending here reminds me a lot of "The Gaileo Seven" and I wonder if we're going to see a similiar set up.
Author's Response: I suppose the shuttle crash is a well used (probably overused) Star Trek trope. But hey, it wouldn't truly be Trek without a few of those.
