Author's Response: Deus Ex all the way. It is called the God Particle for a reason. Deus Ex Machina is usually used as a writing crutch and it has gained a poor rep for it. I always thought that it kind of made sense in the context of this story though. I'll let others judge.

Ah - very nice - the intelligent particle acting intelligently and spacetime travel in response to thought.
A nice twist on the time honored Deus Ex Machina - in fact as close to the definition of the word as I have seen.
