Very interesting interaction between Deen and Owens. A little surprising that Deen strongly supports Star, but it's solid advice and a surprising blind spot for the captain. Which is a common failure of leadership - the halo effect.

Thanks!! rbs

Author's Response: Deen pretty much sees the best in every person she meets. She is quite quintessentially the eternal optimist. But you are right about Owens. Star is a huge blind spot for him, and one he has not dealt with very well up to this point.

Deen throws it up starkly for Owens. If he doesn't trust Star he can only blame himself - it's his decision to keep her there. Still, it is bad form of Star and Owens that don't seem to communicate or trust one another. As for Owens' lack of sleep, there's obviously a whole lot more going on.

Author's Response: Yep, something's going on for sure ...

Well, seems the captain is a bit g grumpy and who can blame him? The dude should get checked out by the counselor but all captains have issues with doctors. Deen is right that Owens need studio trust Star more and not get so worked up because she did her job. Liked the banter between these two a lot. Looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Yeah, like most captains worth thier salt, Owens ain't no fan of the head shrinks. But there is little doubt that he probably could benefit from somebody to talk to. While Nora's recent loss is mentioned here a few times, the fact that Owens has gone through a similar ordeal is only hinted at.
