Author's Response: No excuses for Ketteract. He's the quintessentially stereotypical mad scientist we've seen in Trek and other places many times before. On the one hand it adds to give the Lexington plot line more of a TOS flavor, on the other hand, I do sometimes wish I had given him a bit more depth.

Still quite enjoying Wesley and and Ketterct interacting. Good characaturization on the Xenarth - which is rather tricky with insectoids.
Ketteract is definitely a Star Trek trope - the monomaniacal scientist. Which would be exactly the type to chase Omega.
