The difference in dealing with the Calafans reminds me so much of how Kirk and Mirror Kirk dealt with the Halkans. Well done here; it shows how different both realities are and has that connection with the canon. Not to impede your story writing, but to tell me without a doubt who those people are. Having the Defiant from the future, behaving like Mirror Mirror aggressors...it all is a part of a greater universe.
