Good old ramming speed - better with an abandoned ship under remote control.
I enjoyed Panor's ruminations about Star Fleet captains. It's difficult to keep space battles intersting in narrative - well done!
Thanks! rbs
Author's Response:
I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind words.

I'm hoping the shared frustrations between Sandhurst and Ramirez leads to a higher level of appreciation from both parties. Also, I feel bad for Sandhurst. Commanding one ship was a new enough experience, and now he's acting as a Fleet Captain. Fortunately, Cardassian greed and superiority has driven Panor to make a very unwise set of decisions.
Perhaps now Salk will be more interested in providing Starfleet assistance!

What a nice way of getting rid of Gul Panor. Just what he deserves for trying to destroy a whole bunch of rather defenseless transporter ships...
Author's Response:
I'd agree that his end was well deserved. Karma prevails in this encounter.

Yikes! There goes the Pheonix...things are starting to get ugly. Interesting move by Sandhurst, and I'm glad the Gibraltar is still standing.
Author's Response:
Yeah, after this whole mess those Starfleet personnel fortunate enough to get through this should be awarded 'I Survived Lakesh' T-shirts. ;-)
Thanks for the feedback!

That was a brillant battle scene. Bravo, bravo. Loved every minute of it.
Author's Response:
Thanks, I'm pleased you enjoyed it. What's not to like about dueling starships and a healthy dose of fear and desperation? ;-)

Wow! What a fantastic action chapter. Loved the tricky solution that Sandhurst used, though not sure how happy Starfleet are going to be at the fact he just destroyed one of their ships...
Author's Response:
Well, Sojourner was pretty much a complete wreck anyway, and I think Starfleet will understand the logic of sacrificing one ship to save another, rather than lose both.
Thanks for commenting.

Wow, that was an intense battle. I really liked Faltyne a lot here. And Sandhurst was clever, sending the Sojourner on a collision course.
Author's Response:
Sometimes pure desperation breeds brilliance. Faltyne is an interesting character, and he certainly deserves better than he got in this circumstance.

Sandhurst's desperate gambit is one worthy of captains with twice his experience. Well played!
Author's Response:
Thank you! I thought it straddled the line between inspiration and desperation. ;)

Leave it to an Engineer!
Well paced and exciting, this chapter was still able to add to the depth of your characters even in the midst of all the action. Excellent!
Author's Response:
Much obliged, I'm glad that shown through.

Extremely nice gambit on Sandhurst's part! I was grinning like the cat holding the canary when I saw what his plan was. Feel badly for the loss of the Phoenix, but am not too surprised the Gibraltar was still standing. Great stuff!
Author's Response:
Thanks. Sandhurst's happy his plan worked. Surprised as hell... but happy.
