VERY well done and very moving!

I understand the MACOs...I may not have seen any of the episodes they were in, but I GET them.  I think in a lot of ways, Spirodopoulos carries their legacy--he'd have gotten along very well with them.

Author's Response: The MACO are just one of my favorite things about ENT and I was very happy they included them. I know a LOT of people like them and love them very much. Thanks for the read and the comment NG!

Gosh after the first part I wasn't sure what the second would cover. And wow. This is a terrific piece of storytelling. The style and use of intercuts with the first part to the internal thoughts of Michelle and snippets of Hayes' messages is all very clever and effective and to my opinion carried out with great care and attention to detail.

It is also very toudhing to see this perspective and how she looks on Reed and what impressions had been formed by Hayes. Terrific stuff. Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks so much MF! As personal tool/exercise I tend to try to play with perspectives and will often tell the same story from multiple points of view. But the use of the flashback recordings was just a lucky discovery in this tale. I am very glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading AND reviewing!

What an interesting way to present this story.Like so many of the stories around here, it's a very touching tale. Me, I like to blow things up but I can still appreciate the warmth of a story like this-and I really liked your descriptions of the cabin-it reminded me of a place up in Hootnanny Holler(no joke) that I once stayed at. Bravo!

Author's Response: When doing exercises like this I tend to go for the character studies. But I really like to write battle scenes too... :) I think I'd like Hootnanny Holler! ;)

I loved Major Hayes and this is certainly an original and touching tribute. Accept this from a Reed-fan. ;-)

I loved the way you gave 2 perspectives to one encounter. And Michelle's narrating intermixed with letters is top notch indeed.

Thank you!

Author's Response: Anna, thank you so much. I'm a fan of both Reed and Hayes which is why it was so important for me to acknowledge what I thought Hayes' ultimate respect for Reed was laid out within the context of the tale...I really do believe Reed learned quite a bit about himself during his experience with Hayes and that he would have used those lessons in his future relationships with the MACO after Hayes' death.
