This story sounds quite familiar - if I recall correctly, it's Bensu's people... Perhaps Bensu himself? Or perhaps an alt-Bensu?

Intriguing way to start off - especially told from an external POV.

It sounds like this strange tale is about to get much stranger...

Author's Response: Thanks for the review and sticking with this ongoing saga. Like with Book II, this one starts with a little bit of a curveball that provides some more background on what is happening in the main narrative.
