Normally I'm not wild over assumption/absorbsion stories, but yours was a pleasant surprise and kept me reading to the end. Well constructed and interesting in the three different manifestations. I also enjoyed some of the banter with Chakotay and it's hard to miss with the Doctor (whom I used to my own nefarious ends in Star Trek Hunter).
