That was as intense as it was revealing. I think I learned more about the Q in that one story than in all their appearance in the various Trek incarnations combined. For the first time I got a grasp of how truly awesome their powers are, and how infinitesimal humanoids appear to them. Lady Q's agony at killing another of her kind was palpable and drove home the desperation of their plight. For near-gods to kill one another, wiping out countless ages of knowledge and experience over something as human as ideology... that's both awesome and tragic.

Yes, that's definitely dark. I was lost for some of it; kinda hard to keep things straight, though, when you have multiple people who don't use names. But I did understand the ending and smirked to myself a bit at the small victory in an otherwise bloody war.
