Summary: An entry for the December 2009 TrekBBS Challenge

History can be altered by a single act. Turn left instead of right. Hit the snooze once instead of twice. The ultimate question human beings asked themselves is what if?

The challenge for this month is a particular "what if."

What if the Defiant failed to wipe out the Dominion fleet in the wormhole with the help of the prophets. Sisko did the valiant thing, fired everything he had and took out about twenty warships before being blown to bits.

The rest of the 2,800 Jem'Hadar ships came pouring out of the wormhole.... then what happened? Ten minutes later or 40 years later?

My story posits an Alpha Quadrant Dominion ship venturing into the Delta Quadrant, where they discover a force they did not count on encountering...
