Just the right amount of action - a good, tight scene at the 'house and then into the runabout. It was very easy to follow everything that was happening. Again, you had a lot of information to get across in ordert to let the reader in on what's happening, and to set up more of the story - and it flowed effortlessly.

Again an interesting turn of events. The Hegemony has a lot of people's interest so a mission like this could only be expected but terrific to see it from the operative's POV and it should be interesting to see how she goes about her mission. And a few little details about the hegemony revealed and they only serrve to make things all the more interesting. Whoo hoo.
Author's Response: Thanks! I really enjoyed this chapter and the character of Zoraya. Unfortunately, she doesn't play into Volume I very much, but she will be very present in both Volumes II and III.

Ah, so even the newly reconstituted Starfleet Intelligence likes to throw the odd monkey-wrench into what should be an otherwise straightforward diplomatic and exploration mission. 
Zoraya can obviously handle herself in a bad situation, that's a decided advantage. Now, whether or not she'll be ordered to forcibly vacate the occupant of Redemption's command chair... well... I guess we'll just have to see.
As always, a wonderful chapter and a well drawn introduction to a new character.
